Today is an easy introduction to trekking as we continue onto Tikhedhunga at 1540m. We follow the Burundi Khola for a leisurely 3 hour walk arriving at lunchtime. In the afternoon we can relax and prepare for tomorrow's harder trek.
5
Day 05 : Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Today's trek is more strenuous as we ascend gradually up to Ghorepani at 2750m. We experience the famous Ulleri staircase, a series of stone steps up through the village of Ulleri, and beyond that we continue upwards through beautiful rhododendron forest arriving at Ghorepani mid-afternoon.

The highlight of this trek is the chance to experience the world famous view from the top of Poon Hill at 3210m. We set off early and after one hour reach the top. We can see Annapurna 1 (8091m), Dhaulagri (8167m) as well as many other peaks over 7000m. After returning to Ghorepani we rest and have breakfast before setting off for Tadapani, at 2710m, a further 3 hours down the trail.

Day 07 : Tadapani to Ghandruk
From Tadapani we descend gradually to the famous Gurung village of Ghandruk at approx. 2000m where we can observe the amazing houses and handicrafts of the Gurung residents. Today's trek takes about 3-4 hours and gives us plenty of time to explore the village and buy momentoes.
8
Day 08 : Ghandruk to Naya Pul, return drive to Pokhara
We drop down to the Modi Khola and walk out to Naya Pul along the beautiful riverside trail. This takes approx. 3 hours and we then transfer back to Pokhara where we spend the night.

Day 09 : Fly to Kathmandu
We return to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu with a short flight. We arrive back at the hotel by mid-afternoon at the latest giving us time to unpack, relax and look forward to the end of trek dinner.
10
Day 10 : Transfer from hotel to airport, fly home
We recommend that you book a flight out of Nepal in the late afternoon or early evening to ensure that you have enough time should there be any delay when traveling back to Kathmandu.

On the trek

Our trips are all operated on the GAP system - Guides, Accommodation, Porterage. Over our many years of experience we have realised that clients prefer to choose and pay for their own food and drink on the trail. Not only does this result in a more cost effective regime but it takes into account the many factors that can influence our clients choice. Some clients prefer a hearty breakfast with relatively light lunches and dinners, whilst others prefer the opposite and so we allow our clients to make their choices and the sirdar helps to settle bills as we progress along the trail. We recommend that you allow US$25 per day for food and drink.

Permits and Entrance Fees

All trekking permits and entrance fees are included.
